Just thought I'd share my little happiness with everybody. I was recently published in the 2008 issue of Sanskrit, UNC Charlotte's lit/art mag. If you're looking for some art and poetry, you could do worse... this year's issue is pretty good stuff! I believe the magazines cost $10, printed nicely on good heavy stock, 72 pages or so. My poem is "Poet Show" on page 19.

Hi Quemaqua (you wouldn't like to explain how you decided on such a strange psuedonym would you!).
I'm delighted at you success and I' Look foward to reading it. So far I have failed to access it - though I'll keep trying. I should explain that a) I am not the most competent user of cmputers and b), I work on what is possibly the the most abused and cheapest computer known to humankind. Everytime I try to access something the computer freezes and times out!
I would be great if you could give us all an extract here. In fact I'd lose it if all members could be encoutraged to use this site as an opportunity to share their own imaginative ideas in a none threatening enironment.
Regards

By the way folks,
I'e just noticed that what appear to be the two most important Carroll books coming out oer the next year or so, both, coincidentally have the phrase Looking Glass' in their titles.
Jenny Woolf's 'anti-biography' is titled Looking Glass Man and Sherry Ackerman's examination of Carroll's philosophy is called 'Beyond the Looking Glass'.
They both appear to be 'must reads'. I'm sure a lot of you will be quite familiar with Jenny. Her recent book on Carroll's Bank account was a major contrbution to Carroll Scholarship. The blurb I read on her agent's website (even allowing for the fact that it is, obiously blurb) suggests that Jenny is trying to finally lay to rest a good few of those myths that have plagued Carroll scholarship.
Sherry, most of you probably won't know. She's a philosophy professor at a Californian College (Shastra), who specialises in neo-platonism. She is also the equestrian equivalent of Robert Pirsig and has done for the art of equestiansim what Pirsig did for the Art of Motor Cycle Maintenance.
I had the privilege of reading the manuscript of her book and I can say that it is a must read for anyone who is remotely interested in the philosophical underpinning of Carroll and his works. It is also one of the clearest and easy on the eye/brain, philosophical works you could wish to read.

You can find the magazine's unofficial site here: www.sanskritlam.com/index.html - the official one doesn't seem to have been updated in quite a while. I believe you can find an address there if you wish to order a copy of the magazine for $10 (it's nicely printed, well worth the money in my estimation). There are a number of fun articles, worthy poetry submissions, and great visual art pieces. I'd love to see people contribute some creative stuff here as well. Being an artist, writer, and musician myself, it's hard to get enough. =) Perhaps at some point in the near future I can type a little something up here.
