Hi, because of my worsening health conditions I am obliged to resign as moderator. I am sorry, but I am oalso sure that you will rapidly solve the problem. Probably I will not be able to contribute any more to the forum, so it would be more appropriate, I think, to cancel me from the list of the members. ermete22

I just joined this group because I'm looking for the answer to a question I'm shocked I can't answer, since my father was a major collector of Alice/Carroll books, letters, etc. This is my question: From what book, poem, or other writing comes the story of the lock that was dashing around madly trying to "find someone to unlock" him? I recently heard it quoted by someone who said it was from something by Lewis Carroll. Perhaps it's not by him at all, since searching with Google hasn't brought up any leads that I could see. Anyone have some ideas?

Anyone have some ideas? This rings no bells at all with me - I think it is probably not by Carroll. Hope this helps a little bit, even if only in a negative way. All the best Mike
