Where did the word 'Wonderland' come from? Did it already exist or was it invented by Carroll?
Is it possible that J M Barrie's coining of the word 'Neverland' was influenced by LC's 'Wonderland'?

He considered all kinds of ideas. But the answer to your question is probably in the Oxford English Dictionary. I don't have access to it at present, but normally it can be accessed free if you have a UK library card - at least if your library is reasonably up to date.
