More information is slowly dribbling out about Burton's AIW movie, vide this URL: http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=14303
I suspect that many Carrollians will be reaching for their heartburn medicine when they read the fine print contained in these enthusiastic expostulations of the nattering nabobs of the pop-kulture nomenklatura … the bit about Alice as Neo (The Matrix) boggles the mind in particular
cheers, I guess … mahendra

I am unable to find out too much about this project, it seems to be in early development at Chris Applehan's Froghat Studios: http://www.froghatstudios.com/portemp.html
scroll down the page a bit to find alice
Another contemporary, American, pop-culture-influenced take on AIW … the plot thickens!

I don't really mind playful attempts to do something weird with the Alice concept, at least not all the time. Some are more nefarious than others, and it's really hard to say until you see the final product. I remain forever skeptical, but we'll see, I guess.

And yet another Alice production in the works, a TV mini-series for the Sci Fi Channel. Go here: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/cont....8fbe8a0cd8d42fe for the gory details.
Worth reading just for the nasty shock that you'll have when you realize how poorly Hollywood really thinks of Mr Carroll's oeuvre … come to think of it, most publishing execs seem to have the same opinion in many respects.

Hi Mahendra, I (and probably you too) am not really shocked by judgements from publishing execs. However, in contrary to you I do not have to deal with them

I am surprised that no one has wanted to comment on the upcoming Tim Burton (Disney) "Alive in Wonderland" film more recently. The publicity for this film is starting to ramp up now, there is now an official teaser-trailer - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VHRz1S_kYI. And for those that want to have an insight into the script, the final draft is available at http://www.docstoc.com/docs/8742387/Alice-In-Wonderland-Screenplay.
I was surprised how much I reacted to it, finding it a merciless and deliberate destruction of the Alice stories and showing little understanding or love of Carroll's books.
Given that, in terms of modern popular culture, I expect this will be the biggest "Alice" event for some time, I expected there to be more discussion.
